I hope this finds you well (2025)

3-channel video, 5.1 surround sound, 15min

‘I hope this finds you well’ is a sincere gesture and an automated social protocol, a message sent across distance, without certainty that it will ever arrive.

Someone wanders through mountainous coastal landscapes filling metal chests with debris.
Someone else runs their smartphone data through a scanner.
Elsewhere, an endless stream of postcard-like objects continues to accumulate in someone’s room.

This is a story of unsettled quests: heroes with no journey, drifting between attention and distraction, searching, losing the plot, finding something else. In this strange world, not only objects have the magical quality of becoming vessels for sound and memory transfer, but so do the protagonists themselves. Rather than being explorers, they become handlers of information and residue themselves.

A reflection on how we anticipate, process and compartmentalise, what we take with us or leave behind and what continues to circulate long after its original meaning has dissolved.
